Anyone done/doing a wedding quiz?

I go to a weekly pub quiz, and because this is a very 'me' thing, I quite like the idea of doing a little mini quiz at the wedding. I also like the idea of having something a bit different at the wedding.
I've spoken to the guy who runs the quiz, who has very kindly said he would do something for us for free as I've known him for quite a few years now. He would be willing to discuss the sort of questions we want and include some questions about me and my OH to make it a bit more wedding themed. We would then maybe give a couple of bottles of wine as a prize for the winning team/table.
So my question is has anyone done this/ planning on doing this? And if so what did you do? How long was the quiz? What part of the wedding did you hold it at? How did it go down with the guests?

For my first wedding i put the little confetti wedding trivia boxes on the tables to help break the ice. Most of the tables had people on them that only knew a couple of other people.
My old school friends had a proper little quiz going at their table and really enjoyed it!
You should put in the in between rounds games that people do in pubs too, higher and lower and heads or tails etc. Much fun!
There is a lot of free time for guests at weddings between the ceremony and the food, or between the food and the dancing. I think a quiz would be an ideal thing to do to keep them active. I've been very bored and quite a few weddings, and i remember one in particular we were all expected to stand up outside, my feet were killing me!
I think a few questions about the two of you is a great idea, and you could put on or two at teh end of each round - so do music and make the last question "what was bluespirits favourite song at karaoke" and do sports and make the last question "what position did Mr. Bluespirit play in the school footy team".
The best man could announce the winning table during the speeches or soemthing.
Crikey, got rather carried away there!saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.

I went to a wedding a couple of years ago who did a quiz and it went down brilliantly.
They didn't have a quiz master as such but gave out handouts with the q's on them for people to fill in whilst eating the meal, the best man then read the answers and we havd to mark a differnet tables entry to stop cheating.0 -
Thanks - that's really helpful. Was worried people might think it was a strange thing to do at a wedding! Starting to get lots of ideas for fitting it in now!

I know someone who had icebreakers on the tables - the bride and groom invited folks that they knew and these folks didnt necessarily know each other so they wrote something down about each person so that folks could ask questions e.g. ask bob about the time he fell off the wall..and stuff like that..it worked a treat apparently.0

Hey,
we are planning on having a quiz at our wedding too!
We are going to be doing it as a surprise though, i think its scheulded to take place at around 5pm before things need to start getting ready for the evening set up (DJ/food etc) we have quite a big gap in the middle lunch from 12.30 so thought be good idea to fill bit time in.
we are going to do a round on wuestions about me and OH, a round on disney things (to fit the theme) and then a general knowlege round. Prob about 15 questions at most i reckon for each as dont want it to be boring. Going to print off answer sheets and then get some sort of prize.
not sure if we going to do as tables/half tables/smaller groups etc.
Am looking forward to it though as be something bit different!:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!
Our little princess born 8th June - she is amazing!! :grinheart

What a great idea! My OH would probably get the answers about me wrong though! He doesn't retain information!
I think that is a real ice-breaker though - would definitely put in a few questions - even if they were multiple choice - about you and OH like when did x&y get engaged?0 -
Yay - I'm so pleased others are doing similar! I had a big discussion about it last night with OH, and he's come round to the idea a bit more. We think theres going to be a bit of time after the wedding breakfast and before the evening doo, and at this point I think OH and I will be off doing pics, so I think then would be a good time for it to keep the guests entertained (although it would be a shame that we miss it too). We're planning on going up to our venue again next month so will ask them if they could accomodate it then.
I definitely think multiple choice Qs are a good idea so that people can at least put an answer down. I quite like the idea of making sure that teams are mixed up of people from both sides so that people can mingle a bit too.Getting married 12/11/2011
