When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :)

Well hello there my lovelies

I'm up a bit earlier this morning so thought I would get us kick-started :)

Today:
  • work work work
  • shopping at lunchtime for things on my list only! :p
  • something cheap for lunch
  • booked hotel - got quidco cash back
  • get travel insurance - use quidco again hopefully
  • call docs later
  • look into one of those pre-paid credit cards for travel
  • transferred £ from paypal to bank a/c
  • email wedding venue
Looking forward to hearing what small things everyone else is up to :D

Catch up again later.

    Morning All :hello:
    Thanks La E :D

I'm feeling really bright and cheerful today (irritating I know :rotfl:) My internet connection has been pretty intermittent these last couple of days, but it meant that Popeye and I had a lovely day in the garden, without me constantly telling him how many people "liked" the Kits for Kids page on facebook :rotfl:

    So today I have/will:
    • watch my plants grow, water them and talk to them :j
    • dig a bed for tomato plants :j
    • check banking
    • home manicure - gardening aint good for finger nails :p
    • make a meal plan for the week, and a shopping list and stick to it
    • source some worms for the farm as Popeye fitted a tap yesterday, we're ready to go :j
    • read papers on-line
    • nag DD & DS2 by e-mail :D
    • do 20 mins on the CT and Shred...... _pale_

Oooh and see if we still can have our FREE night at a Spa in November :j:j
Have a great day everybody :A

Morning La E thanks for starting us off!
I am early this morning as I managed to get DD up with no issues! Only cos she thinks we're going to Grandma's house again....am I a bad mother? LOL

    My list today:-
    - NSD
    - [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Charge mob at work[/STRIKE]
    - Do some surveys
    - Try on Next arrivals and decide which are going back (items not are being paid for by my survey money :) )
    - Check clubcard balance online, ex buys his work fuel using my clubcard
    - [STRIKE]Work hard today? Seem to have cleared up the issue at work [/STRIKE]:)
    - [STRIKE]Submit purge claims and sell more![/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Lunch and [/STRIKE]dinner from stores, [STRIKE]including HM rice pudding from my SC[/STRIKE]- Check for new bills coming in.
    - Try to get DD to bed early again tonight so another hassle free morning tomorrow

    That's it for me!
    Jx

Determined - rice pudding in SC was 50g pudding rice, 1 pint FF milk, 25g caster sugar, cook until it's done! On the recipe I followed it said 2 1/2 hrs on high. but it didn't work, so I left it on low over night, still not enough - left it on low while i went to work and it was perfect!!!!
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

Good Morning everyone, It’s a dry but cold morning here.

I’ve got a rather busy day planned for today, as there is a lot of freelance work to be completed.

    My list for today:
    • Catch up with emails
    • Get DS off to school
    • Contact college (can’t get in today as brakes are playing up on the car)
    • Wait on the mechanic coming out to sort the car
    • Relaxing shower
    • Check pigsback
    • Catch up with surveys
    • Sort budget for October
    • Transfer money from Paypal
    • Look into benefits for DM
    • Update weekly work list and diary
    • List 5 items in ebay account
    • Sort party plan account
    • Look for some freelance work
    • Complete E assignments
    • Catch up with laundry
    • Complete 3000 word report for client
    • Complete 2100 word report for client
    • Collect DS from school
    • Sort menu plans for this week
    • Take meat out the freezer for dinner
    • Make a start on de-cluttering the living room
    • Check online bank and move money around
    • Do some of the ironing pile
    • Do some course work
    • Complete 2100 word report for client
    • Make dinner
    • Order a top for graduation
    • Pay some money off personal loan
    • Visit DM to test the car once it has been sorted.
I think that is everything that I need to do today, so here goes…………..
    Aiming to get Debt Free.
  • Morning all, busy start to the day already and plenty left to do!

    So far I have:
    • run DW overnight on Economy 7
    • run WM overnight on Economy 7
    • hung HC on airer as not sure what weather is doing
    • emptied DW
    • run DS3 a bath in time for water to reheat on Economy 7 (he wasn't that impressed at the time :D)
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    Still to do:
    • feed and water chickens
    • make a lunch to take to work
    • do knitting at lunch time to avoid the shops
    • do a freezer dive for dinner
    • write a meal plan for the next fortnight
    • have an NSD
    • try to get through the next two days at work - boss is off to USA on Wednesday for a month. He churns out TONS of work leading up to it so there's nothing outstanding when he goes, but it's hard work for us "girls"!!
