  • Hi,

No you shouldn't have 2 defaults for the same credit card, I am going through the same thing at the moment, I have just written to equifax and experian to get them to remove the second default, as you should only have one, hopefully they will reply to say they have been removed.

Print your credit report and highlight the 2 defaults and write a covering letter to explain why the 2nd default should be removed.

    Im still a bit confused?

Should I have 2 records on my credit file? One from Cabot and one from Egg for the same credit card.

And should I be asking for the original documents?

I have no idea what the third debt is

You can't have 2 defaults for the same debt. If Egg didn't default you then Cobot can. If Egg defaulted you, then Cabot can't :)

You can have 2 entries, that's not a problem. One says "settled" anyway.

The Activ Kapital thing looks like it could be a default from a bank overdraft or some such, as they specifically state "Bank Default".

The Egg account is showing as defaulted in Nov 2006 then settled in December 2006. The Cabot account shows defaulted in December 2006.

The report is from equifax and in the grid of boxes, I have a red box with a D in it for November and a green box with S in for December so there is still reference to a default in there
