Where is the best place to get psp memory cards?

I dont really know anything about psp but my son wants one for xmas so I got the £149.99 psp.

Where can i get a memory card for it & does anyone have any idea how big memory card i need?

i got a 2gb sony one off ebay for about £28 which im told is a good price.have a look on there

Be really careful buying from ebay as it's awash with fakes and you could end up with a card with a much lower capacity than advertised, or it could fall to bits after a while - and if you're really unlucky it'll damage the PSP in the process.

Some people have managed to get good deals, others have been less fortunate.

Try MobyMemory, they're good and reliable, and their stuff's legitimate.

I'd go for something at least 1gb, and go for a Sandisk one rather than a branded Sony, as they're slightly better value and just as good (if not better) quality and performance-wise than the Sony.

the ebay cards are cheap but it is due to the number of fake cards about no one will risk the real value of the 2GB cards incase they are fake. fake cards are bad, data errors, loss of data, reduced capacity are all problems when using fake cardssome display a different capacity to a genuine card only slightly but it is different, reaching the actual capacity of the card which have been known to be 256mb cards up to 1GB causes the card to corrupt data. game saves dont actually take up that much space all the ones I have are less than 1mb each so unless he will be putting mp3's and videos on there there isnt a need for 2GB.

The big reason for a huge card is to downgrade and use a 1.5 PSP and play homebrew and the oter things that go with that like "backup games" from the memory card. A movie at reasonable quality will be about 500-700mb depending ont he length of movie.

I buy mine from scan.co.uk as they are cheaper for me as I save postage.

The sandisk 1GB cards are faster than the 1 GB sony cards the 2GB are slightly faster I dont know about the 4GB cards they only came out the last few weeks and I havnt got one yet.

I appreciate the fact that there are alot of fakes on ebay. Its when people get a smaller card and reformat it with an incorrect size, the other problem is people selling "2 GigaBIT" cars instead of "2 GigaBYTE" cards as 2 GigaBITs is only 256mb card.

However if people post there experiences, as I have above, people will soon learn which sellers to trust. As soon as I got my card I refomatted it and it still 2GB, I have also filled the card with files (movies, mp3s, games etc) and every file works.

So as I say, you can trust "hgb_uk" , but I would not buy a card from anyone outsite the UK or without good feedback.
