Why are people on benefits allowed to live in London?!

So the middle classes can hire cleaners and childminders at a reasonable rate.0

So, if the Queen had a 1-bed flat for rent at Buck House, the LHA would be £350/week.
I think that £350 is the current rate for central London - includes, but isn't limited to, Westminster and around....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
OP already started a similar thread yesterday....

Where exactly would you move them? We don't want your social dumping round here. The north? Not enough jobs. Are you against all benefits as your username suggests, or only benefits in London?Been away for a while.0

Everyone keeps saying where are all these going to move to? What a stupid question. The UK is huge, they can move anywhere!
Yes they will have to move to places with fewer jobs and unemployment will go up. But higher unemployment is not as important a problem as reducing such a huge housing benefit time bomb that Labour set up to explode.
This £500 per week benefit cap will mean anyone with a few kids currently living in London and not on a very good wage will have to move away.
When you think about it if they have a choice of paying out out their £500 cap say £300+ rent/council tax in London leaving less than £200 for bills/living, or move to Wales and renting for less than £200 wk rent/council tax. Meaning they get to keep more of the rest of their benefits for living/bills.0 -

Maybe put them all in the same place. That would incentive those that really do want to work to get the hell out?0 -
I'm ok property and rents are quite high where I live but all you posters who live in cheaper parts of the country better watch out.0
-
Oh and why not build a nice big wall, and shove them all in a ghetto while you're at it ? And of course let's not even mention the greedy landlords who are happy to take huge rents ..oh no let's not go there. It can't be their faults, must be the unemployed to blame.
Hope all your jobs are safe... or you might be joining them .0 -
There are cheaper parts of London quite often within a few miles of the really expensive areas.0

There are cheaper parts of London, many within a few miles of the more upmarket areas. There is no reason that benefit claimants should feel they have a right to live in the more expensive areas which most people cannot afford.0
