Christmas present ideas for grandparents?

I'm hoping someone might be able to give me some inspiration please!

I like to send my grandparents a little present each but am getting a bit bored of sending socks, pjs, nighties, scarves, gloves etc! They live quite a way away so any presents have to be light enough to send.

Has anyone got any ideas of what I can get them this year? Either as separate presents or a joint one?

Many thanks!

Personalised photo calendars maybe. Often closer to christmas various sites have offers on like 3 for 2. I think its a nice gift that last all year long.
For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.

A christmas rose bush for the garen.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Both great ideas, thank you! Unfortunately they don't have a garden so a rose bush wouldn't be suitable but am liking the photo calendar idea :j

I've posted this a couple of times in this part of the forum but they are so easy to do. If you have Picasa on your computer ( free download ) you could make them a picture collage below is one I did for my dad.

It sounds as if you possibly dont live that close to your grandparents if you have to post a present to them so how about sending them a card for christmas with a promise in...maybe when you have time in January after christmas is over arrange to visit them and take them out to afternoon tea or maybe if its too difficult to take them out you could take a hamper of scones cream jam a few sandwiches etc and set them out a lovely "posh " tea at home...they will be made up with thought im sure and would probably love to see you too!

I used to live quite near to my grandparents, but we moved away about 18months ago :( OH and I went to a wedding not long ago and got all dressed up and had some nice pictures taken. So this year we are planning on buying a nice frame and putting one of the pictures in it, will probably get something else as well, but I know they will really appreciate that :D

  • Flower08 that's just what I've been thinking about just now! I was a bridesmaid the other week and have a really nice picture of me and my bf which I was thinking about putting in a nice frame and sending to them. I think they'd get more enjoyment out of that than anything else : )
  • Another vote for a picture calendar! Theres a link for vistaprint at the minute and its 99p plus 3.08 postage and packing on the 3 week delivery. So easy to make and they are great quality! I have done 2 now for my grandad (one of grandkids one of old pics of him and my nanna) and he actually cried when he opened the second one! Gave it a miss last year as I didnt think I could top the last one but this year Ive done another with pics from a day out we had earlier in the year :D.
  • Have a look at treasured metal website, they've got some great pressie ideas
