Hi my name is Kirren
and i have recently applied for a credit check due to being denied a contract phone.
But the problem is that i applied to a sim only plan and i have also been denied that contract as well and not quite sure why because i cant get in contact with experian by sending an email because its been like 5 days and i havent had a reply. Also there numbers are horrible so i cant contact anyone there so ye.........
im abit worried at the moment cuz i still havent had a credit report from experian and also wondering if someone has put my name for a phone that i didnt even agree 2 but i dont know yet until i have some idea of my credit report so if anyone has any ideas they want to throw at me that would be great.
Thanks Kirren

Hi Kirren
How old are you?
How long have you lived at your current address?
What's your employment history?
WRT Experian, are you trying to sign up for the free trial? Not sure what you mean by their numbers being "horrible" - if you're on about the cost of the call, then it's only 5p/minute from a BT landline (source: clicky-clicky)My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

when i say numbers i mean telephone numbers
im 18 and i have lived in bath for 18 years and i currently have a part time job as a sales assistant0 -
If you're only 18, then chances are your age, lack of employment history will cause you problems getting any sort of credit. You effectively have no history. Do you know if you are even registered on the electoral role?
Also, what problem are you having with the Experian telephone numbers? My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

hope this isnt a weird request but what exactly is electoral role because ive seen it thrown around alot this subject and before i register how does it exactly help with me getting a contract with a phone or sim only plan ???
and any ideas on how to build up a credit history cuz i need a phone soon cuz im gona be going to uni for 4 - 6 years depending if i do 2 courses0 -
The Electoral Role is the list of people who are registered to vote and the address at which they are registered. It's important because it's part of proving that you are who you say you are and that you live where you say you live.
Why the urgency for a contract mobile? A monthly contract can be expensive at the best of times, nevermind when you're on a student's income. Why not just get a PAYG instead?
You still haven't said what problem you're having with the Experian telephone number. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

You don't NEED a phone for uni.....that's a fallacy...most of us use FB or MSN (I'm a student too)
The Electoral role means you can vote, it proves where you live (used for ID purposes by EVERY place that gives credit, it proves who you say you are, where you live and how long you've lived there) So yes, you NEED to be on it. Do that, you'll now need to wait til the New Year to even think of trying again, as their mass registration drive is now til December, which is when the next update is. So you'll be waiting a bit.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.
