Personnally I would get the mortgage agreed before looking for property.
However thats not right for everybody, at the latest get it agreed BEFORE making an offer.I am a Mortgage Adviser

depends
If you know it will probably be a easy call
LTV good
salary multiple good
clean deposit(proof it has been saved or is genuine gift/inheritance)
No debts
clean credit record
single/couple application, no other person living in the property
then it won't matter much
If it for your Son with you/wife providing funds being on the mortgage as previous thread then yes so you can find out how much or if they will lend.0
