for me....about 6-7 evenings...also have some logs....each bag fill my coal scuttle just over 3 times..maybe more..

If lighting up after around tea time, then maybe half a scuttle gets burnt......before bed time...

In deep winter, if at home, a scuttle a day with maybe one or two logs, split.

Just a room heater, not a nice fire grate....ie a box on legs, full of flames.

but its a nice focal point, and if the door is kept shut, heats the room [a big one] nicely

circle of bricks in t' middle of lounge...hole in ceiling, hole in roof, there you go!

Renew straw on floor every week......keeping sheep indoors helps with heating too.
