Challenge: 19" CRT monitor cheaper than £118?

I'm a governor at a primary school and we want to upgrade the monitors in the computer room. Currently it is two children to each monitor, so we want to increase the size from 14" to 19". I think CRT would be better than LCD, as they have a wider viewing angle.
Cheapest 19" CRT I can find is £118, at Misco:

But before we go and buy 15 of these, does anyone know of any cheaper ones?

Would you not be better with TFTs as the screen can sit further back on the desk? The kids would be more impressed by these as well.
These type of monitors wouldn't be any more expensive as well, a quick look produced these...

...maybe not as many in stock as you need but I am sure you could get 15 TFTs for under £120 each with a little help from our moneysavers.0 -

Thanks for the ideas, so far. Looks like we are down to £109 for the CRT.
Maybe LCDs are worth considering. As I understand it, a 19" LCD has a bigger viewable screen than a 19" CRT, which might compensate for the narrower viewing field.koru0 -
I'm writing this with my 19" LCD TFT LG monitor I got about a year ago.
I went from a 17" crt to this and the difference is massive!
Less eye strain, bigger viewing area, higher resolution (1024x768 to 1280x1024), lower power consumption, more desk space...
usually 17" LCDs run the same res at their bigger 19" counterparts. If you have the space go 19" as it makes everything that bit more easy to read when sitting far back.0 -
19 inch CRT is 17.3" viewable normaly
17" inch TFT look massave because its 17 inch viewable

Or if you realy want 19 inch (will be overkill)

LCD is a better option in my view just because they use less power, less chance of eye strain etc. Plus at these prices it might be worth it.
Hope it helps.

If you are after 19" CRT Monitors why not look at getting refurbished one's.

koru wrote:Wow! Refurbished seems fine for use in a school, as the kids will trash them anyway. At that price I am sure you are right that they are refurbs, but I can't see a mention of that on the site.
Have friends who have used them before and they are normally very good.
I found this on the main home page
"Speedie Computers have over 15 years experience in supplying quality refurbished computer equipment, including laser printers, monitors, system units and laptop computers to the general public and trade. We also offer a repair service and have a wide selection of spares and parts from our second user machines"
