Either last year, or the year before, I "updated" my free gifts manually, and it went through, then the next time it didn't. Instore, some of the SAs don't bat an eyelid, especially if you have a mixed basket of items, but others act like you've just commited murder. :eek:

But the till will accept it, so if it's queried, just say "it has been verified which is why the till will accept it". The fact that I've verified it and not Mr Boots, doesn't matter!

Just a little tip to newbies ...... someone posted on yet another Boots thread that the word "logical" doesn't figure in a Boots Dictionary. This is so true. There are different rules and regs in different branches, and amongst SAs in the same branch. The tip is, if you fail at one till, try another, then another, and if all else fails, ask to speak to the Manager. But, always, always, always be polite. If successful eventually, I thank the SA profusely, all but kiss their feet, and smile brightly! And if I fail, I still thank them, cos there's always another glitch round the corner.

Can you give another little tip to a not quite a newbie! What on earth is a GWP? I keep seeing it in posts to do with boots?

I bet its something really obvious. I've even googled it and I can't find out what it means. Is it, 'something With Points.'

Have a feeling I'm going to feel really silly when I find out how obvious it is...

do you think if I put my no7 mascara in my basket now with the GWP it will stay there until wednesday even if that gwp ends?

I was in there today and was told that the 3 for 2 ends tomorrow.
