If you claim, then she will have to pay for that child and your assessment may reduce, depending on whether you are on CS1 or 2 - if 2, then it will definitely reduce.0

its csa 2 , but i dont think she has an income or benefits as her partner is seriously well paid, therefore she would have a nil assessment wouldnt she? but seems unfair if they only reduce his payments by 5% when according to them it takes £370 to look after 2, but only 5% less to look after one if you get what i mean0

Put the claim in anyway, it will help you if there are any problems from the efficiency [did I say that] that the CSA show in these cases. Sorry meant to say when they mess up the case as they do so well.0

if she doesn't work or get any tax credits, she will have a nil assessment as you said.0

Would they not take 15% off for the child staying with you (assumng only 1 child) then you would pay 15% of whats left. ie monthly income after tax etc £1850 x 12 = 22200 divided by 52 = £426.92 pw x 15% for the child with you = £64.04 gives £362.88 pw £362.88 x 15% = £54 pw (rounded to the nearest £1) so you would pay £54 per week or £234 per month. You could also claim child benefit and Child Tax Credits although CTC would need to be included in the above equation.0
