in Cutting tax
Hi all,
Hope you can help me with this.
I have a company car which I can use for my own private use.
Have had the car for nearly a year and so far I have only used it for work, no private miles at all.
I am paying approx £30 per month in tax.
The company have offered me a van to use which would be non taxable but I would prefer to keep the car.
Is there any way of keeping the car but not paying any tax.
thanks

How do you get to work to use the company car for work?0

I garage the car at home, and travel to various sites during the day. Although I have use of a company office nearby I choose to do all my admin work at home.

The test is whether it is available for private use. Therefore if your employer forbade you from using it privately, and you did not in fact do so, you would not be charged. However, as previous answer has pointed out, home to work is private use.0

Yes I am afraid the above advice is correct.
If the vehicle is available for your use, then you will be taxed.
I am a little confused as to why you refuse the van?Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

It's just a comfort thing, I do about 33,000 miles a year, Focus Estate is really comfy, quiet and nice to drive.0
