I have just recieved two free hippo bags through the post which save up to 3 litres of water with every flush of the toilet.
If you are a south staffs water customer just click on this link and there is a form to fill in at the bottom of the page to request hippo bags and save a flush bags - which are similar.
Hope this helps - we are on a meter so any savings will be noticed!!!

If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.

or you could just put a couple of bricks in your sistern0

if that works - but sorry , id never heard of that. These are just special bags, so theres no chance of them breaking up and blocking your whole system! If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0

I've got 2 hippos in my cistern.
And a brick!
Still seems to use too much water though.A greedy man's bag is never full0 -
from anglian water you can get a Freddie Frog free, dose the same thing as above. i was a bit disapointed when it didnt resemble a frog and was just a bottle you fill with sand.0

I got one before, but it looked dodgy, does it actually work?

whereabouts in the sytem do you put the bricks? and is it safe?
and also does the flush work jut as effectively?0 -
All this is is a type of plastic bag that you place in the sistern to use less water, I have not tried it yet but I do have save a flush bags in the sistern, which you can also get from the above link, they are gel filled bags which balloon up in the water and save 1 litre per flush, these work very well - Im sure much better than a brick!!!
It does say on the site that the hippo would be more useful in older sisterns - not the very modern ones, so maybe you should look at the site and decide which is best for you. Good luck xIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
