Eyecreams vs normal moisturiser?

Hi
I was wondering if it is worth purchasing a seperate eyecream or if a normal moisturiser will do?
Do they make a difference?
Thanks in advance
btw I am still using starflower oil capsules on my face at night and absolutely swear by it for soft clear young looking skin

I think it is a case of trial and error and what suits different individuals.
I had always been very sceptical about the benefits of eye creams. From time to time, I tried different ones and tbh couldn't see any difference, despite having read about their benefits over normal moisturiser and of various posters claims on this board.
A few months ago, I got a free sample of a more expensive eye cream and was staggered to notice marked results almost from first application. I bought the product continued to be happy with the results. it has now finished and tbh, despite it's performance, I'm reluctant to keep shelling out atm (around £40-£45 for 15ml depending where you buy it)
I think if I have any events/holidays etc coming up, I will buy it and use it for a week before, but tbh for what it costs when my daily routine is fairly humdrum as it is at the moment, I feel it's an extravagence and don't think my eyes look that bad anyway!!!
Try and get some free samples freom lots of different products to try would be my advice.0 -
I've tried many eye creams and the product that I get the best results from is Gatineau Melatogenine Future Plus Anti-Wrinkle Mask, it's the only leave-on mask that I know of you can use right around the eyes. It's a face and eye leave-on mask that's very light in texture.
Don't need to use it on my face, just morning and evening around my eyes, it's about £35 a tube but you get 75ml, lasts me about a year. I use it occasionally on the backs on my hands too.
P.S. Thanks Frugal for your tip on the starflower caps - been using them for a couple of weeks now and my skin is supersoft now.0 -

My lips are sealed :rotfl:
I haven't tried it under makeup, my skin tends to be on the combination/oily side but can get a bit dehydrated in winter with central heating, etc so I think it would be too much for me under makeup, I'm happy using in at night - how about you, do you use it under makeup?0 -
Just at night for me too, for the same reasons, it does all soak in tho

I like to use a separate eye cream (I'm happy with Bodyshop) but I couldn't honestly say it's essential. For me it's a ritual in the morning, helps wake me up to face the day:D0

I use a separate eye cream to moisturiser. I think as long as it costs the same (or less) then your moisturiser, your not actually spending any more as your not applying more to your face, your applying less moisturiser and just eye cream where the moisturiser has not been applied. Its just about getting used to the routine of using separate products which is actually easy to get used to I think.
I never used to use a separate eye cream as I was just fed up with so many products and didn't click I wouldn't be spending more, assumed I couldn't afford the luxuary. Then a few months ago I tried an eye cream, purely as I got it for a very good price and it promised wrinkle assistance which I was just then starting to notice! I wanted to see if it worked.
Well I think it helped with some fine lines (nothing will get rid of everything) but what I didn't expect was a huge amount of puffiness to have just gone! My eyes just looked so much bigger, so much better and it made enough of an impact on me to stick with using eye cream from then on. I wouldn't have believed it unless I'd tried it myself though.
I have been through 3 different brands (got them all on the go at the same time, one for morning, one for night, one after the gym) and they all work great so I don't think its that I've found a fantastic brand (all though I would recommend it) I think its about eye creams being a finer product then a dense moisturiser.0
