Did any one watch 'Despatches' on Channel 4 last night?
It just confirmed what can happen with the personal account information that we are regularily asked to confirm by call centres, in far off lands.
I suppose we should be flattered that it costs anything from £8 - £55 to obtain all the information required to be able to fraudulently use our accounts.
This is not limited to the odd 'opportunist' thief - it is highly organised and priveleged customer information on accounts and credit cards from all the major banks was offered on a regular (50.000 details per month) basis.
Small wonder that we don't trust overseas call centres:mad:

I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I didn't see the programme - probably just as well since it would not be much good for the old blood pressure!
I remember doing a story for the local paper about Chip and Pin - everyone I spoke to seemed to be in favour of it, but I don't think it's helped with these problems at all.....Overpay!0 -
I didn't see dispatches but there was a big bit on the ch 4 news about it. It was scary, the way they had pages and pages of info just sitting on their personal laptops.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
