Hope some body can help here
Our current property is paid for but we cannot sell and have seen a house we want the offer has been accepted so we are getting a buy to let on our old house to use a deposit on the new then rent out the old house.
Our solicitors has said she will need to do searches on our current property mining local authority bankruptcy etc but since we have lived at the adr for 20 years surely they are not needed
`i know they don't cost a lot but every penny saved helps
thanks

The searches are for the benefit of the lender so need to be done.

No Lender will provide funds without the search. It is needed to ensure the property doesn't disappear down a hole and they cannot recover their money...Act in haste, repent at leisure.

if you decide to over pay off mortgage to be mortgage free again (lovely thought am working towards it myself) Pay your main home mortgage off as you can offset the interes part of the buy to let mortgage against your tax bill
Good luck :beer:0
