Redundancy Job Centre Query

As if my year could not get any worse.
I was made redundant last week.
My unemployment insurance protection requires me to sign on at the job centre, as registered unemployed.
With the insurance income, I will not be entitled to benefits.
I have not signed on yet as I’m not sure what happens there?
My question is that I have a compromise agreement for my redundancy…..can I avoid having to declare the amount of the payment to the job centre.
I am not asking for any benefits….. I just need to register in order to validate my claim.
Can I say I don’t want no benefits, as I have the insurance, will there be less questions?
Also as I will not be getting JSA will I be deemed to just be unemployed with no benefits?
Secondly I intend on keeping up my payments with Payplan as if nothing has happened to my job. I will pay them from the redundancy money, as all 10 creditors are happy, I don’t want anything to rock the boat!!
The peace I have had since this plan started is amazing (will be 2 years next year)
It’s worth using my redundancy payment for this, at least for the next few months; within hopefully I will get a new job.
I don’t think I could cope with redundancy, no job and irate creditors too!!
I don’t want to tell PP because they will request me to pay the redundancy money towards my plan and unfortunately, family members who are aware, want the money back that I owe them…which is understandable and I’m not complaining, as they have been there for me..
When I reap I must sow back. So thats where the bulk is going..
Debts are killers, official ones and unofficial ones…..
How life would be if I had my redundancy pay out, and had no type of debts to deal with…..I’ll wake up now from my dream!!!!
Thanks for all your advice in advance.
Much appreciated.
Hope

You may be entitled to contributions based JSA if your income is too high but you've made enough NI contributions. That will only last a fixed period of time but you should definitely go and sign on, particularly if your insurance is dependant on it.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

by signing on, it means that you will have your NI contributions kept up to date.0

You make a new claim over the phone. They will ask you why you left your job. You will say you were made redundant. They will ask was there a redundancy package.
Even if you do not get any JSA, you will still need to sign on if you want your national insurance credits.0
