I have now received two letters from Buchananclark & wells for a woman i have never heard off but it has my address on it. We're the fourth people to live here and as far as i am aware, she's never lived here.
I sent the 1st one back to company unopened but i opened the 2nd one as i became a bit suspisious. Its for a debt that has nothing to do with me or my family. I've sealed it back up and it'll get posted back too but im not sure what to do if they keep coming. I don't want my address blacklisted and im not wanting debt collectors at the door.
Does anyone have any advice as to what i can do. Im a bit worried even though its nothing to do with me:(

Nothing to worry about, address doesnt get blacklisted no such list exists, your credit file follows you as a person and not your home.
There is little they can do, just keep sending the letters back. They might turn up but as debt isnt yours you have nothing to worry about.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Just ignore them, put "doesn't live here" on them and stick them back in the postbox.
Hopefully they'll have to pay for the returns."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

There's no such thing as a blacklist. All credit is in the indvidual's name.
Write 'gone away - RTS' on the envelope and put it in a post box.0 -
I'll keep returning them and hopefully they'll stop sending them. Im glad that they don't black list addresses, i'll not worry about it as much now0

The worst that will happen is that you wll continue to get lettes from them, please just ignore them or write to them threatening legal action for harrassement
These people are pure scum, they try to bully and scare you into paying but they do not have a leg to stand on.
Despite what they say they will not send any one round to collect the debt, they never follow up on their threats!
I cannot believe they are allowed to do what they continue to do to people!0 -

Due to the OFT's guidelines on fair practice in debt collection, they are not allowed to threaten with legal action, recovery action or doorstep action. The way they get around this, in order that it's not seen as a direct threat of action, they include the word 'may'.
The wording will be as such that it will state "further action may take place" or "we may soon decide to make doorstep investigations" etc. It's within the regulations, but it's phrased in such a way that it conveys the threat without there being a threat according to the OFT.0
