    Went to a farmers market today and picked up some pheasants thinking i could make some sort of roast with 1 today, but now wondering how i actually cook it (pref roast) the most basic way poss please as i only have basic veg and herbs in the house. Thanks for any help.

    i'm no good with links, so hopefully this should work for you, it looks pretty easy and i am trying it out for the first time today, in the slow cooker!

  • sorry, tryingverytrying, but mine were breasts only;):eek: , VERY reduced on christmas eve! never had pheasant before but thought recipe sounded good AND easy! have to say it is smelling RATHER good at the mo!!!!:D

    Although the above looked very nice i havn't got all that stuff in lol so i used this recipe, http://topchefs.chef2chef.net/recipes/dnelson/data/BasicRoastPheasant.shtml

    it smells yummy and will report later too, i got mine from the farmers market 2 for £4.50 and a pigion for £1 just to have a try! Thought they were pretty good value.

    My OH goes game shooting so we get pheasant till it's coming out of our ears.
    Tend to cook mine in a red wine casserole.


    Probably by the time you take in consideration the cost of shooting, its probably a very expensive pheasant dish.:eek:
