HSBC "Consent to Let"

Hi,

I'm trying to gain information on HSBC consent to let from people who have personally experienced this in the last year or two.

In particular, I am keen to hear experiences regarding:

1. Is there any way of extending the consent period beyond the stated 12 months? (renew for a 2nd 12 month block for example?).

2. If you complete 12 months and they insist on you moving to Buy To Let, do they make you up your equity (if applicable) in the property to their standard 60% LTV for BTL, or do they simply charge you a fee, change the interest rate and let you carry on?

Any HSBC Consent to Let stories appreciated! (Please, HSBC only, unless you know of a Mortgage co that allows a residential mortgage to be converted to Consent to Let after only 2 months !!)

Cheers guys

Consent to Let, and the terms attached to. Are entirely at the discretion of the lender. They are not written on stone so best to ask them the question directly. As the rules could change tomorrow or in 12 months time. .
