Evening Work

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to find evening work?
I currently work 8am - 4pm as an office administrator but really need some extra money to pay off arrears that I have so am looking for a job with hours such as 5pm - 9pm.

I don't really mind what type of work it is but dont have a clue where to start looking.

Please help!

Thanks

One of my colleagues works 4pm till 8pm 4 evenings a week as a carer for older people in their own homes. Quite a nice little job, no real 'personal' care, she just checks on them, makes sure they've had/got a decent dinner and heats it up for them if necessary, makes a cup of tea and has a chat, checks they've taken any medicines they need that day, logs and reports any problems, that's about it. Lots of this sort of work about, you don't need experience, they give you training. Not a bad hourly rate either.

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.

Any idea where I can find something like this? Anything Ive ever seen like this always wants qualifications!
  • You could try the supermarkets, Coming up to christmas they will need temporary staff and usually offer evening part time contracts. I'm not sure if this is the type of role you would be looking for though!

Bar work? Hotels/restaurants may be looking for extra staff to cover the Christmas period.

Bars, restaurants and Hotels would be a good place to try. A lot of students have now gone off to uni and left vacancies, but also Christmas Parties will start soon (early november for some!) and hours of 6-10pm are normal

I work for a Parish Council. Its 11 hours a week (for mine but they vary.) and can be done any time during the week in your own home. There are meetings to go once a month with occasional additional ones. I mostly do my work at weekends as I work during the week. However, be prepared for phone calls, emails, people knocking at your door at any old time. You have to be very organised as you are totally on your own. Also it is really a long term job but the pay starts at about £8.30 an hour. It has pros and cons!

Hiya, If you search for Job Centre Plus, your local Job Centre will come up in the search, you can apply for any of those jobs, you don't need to be registered with them, (which I know you are not), I see alot of Office Cleaning work, which should suit your hours, its usually a couple of hours, in the late afternoon/early evening.

Or search for your local paper, ours is on-line, and all of their classified adds are again online.

    Good Luck
