Lowest prices at Amazon stores! Take advantage of price variations!!

Options
Hi,

Just check Pricenoia (www.pricenoia.com) if you want to find cool deals at lots of products (Books, CDs, DVD, Electronics).

This site compares international Amazon Stores for New, Used or Third Party products (new products from other sellers, not Amazon itself). It also shows the shipping price from every amazon to the user country, and put everything in the local currency...

It's quite amazing to see how much you can save by buying from other Amazons.. third parties use to have really good prices, and if you don't bother to get used products, give them a try also.

What I specially love in this site is a graphical comparison of new products price evolution, at every international Amazon store.. it's a really nice way to understand how price evolve, and better, on when to take advantage of a lower price somewhere, a discounted product for some time, etc..

I hope you find this as useful as I find it!!

    looks good, cheers!

    - only problem might be customs charges.......
  • Well, custom charges aren't applied on many countries if the order is not very expensive.

What I like is to see the ALL tab, an check things i'm interested at in every shop, from every vendor... curious at least, but i've ordered several items now.

    Some examples :
French Women Don't Get Fat - Guiliano
    The Kite Runner
    - Khaled Hosseini
Blink : The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
    - Malcom Gladwell
    American Idiot
    - Greenday

I think that there are even more products with big difference. Sometimes used product in a country are way more expensive than the same product, new, from another Amazon store...

anything over £18 from outside the EU(at least I think inside the EU you are exempt or the value can be higher at least) could be subjected to customs charges
  • Yes you will be charged VAT Plus a £8 surcharge for all items over £18 (note postage is included in that also so not just on the declared item value - I Know this as have just bought some software from the USA - However it still saved money and was delivered from stock to the UK in about a week!

  • There are many countries, in the EU at least, where you don't have custom charges even if the order is higher than 18 pounds.. I suppose it depends on the country or the kind of shippment...
  • Interesting... I use others price comparison engines for books, only books, no dvd or cds.. mainly isbn.nu and addall.com .. give them a try also!

Import duty is paid when the goods enter the EU. Ordering from another EU country therefore wouldn't attract any extra customs charge, whereas orders from (for example) America or Japan would be subject to import duty and VAT. An exception is controlled items (such as alcohol and tobacco) which are subject to extra duties in the UK.

Edit: Although books are exempt from VAT in the UK and I'm pretty sure they're exempt from import duty too, so an order with £10 worth of CDs and £90 worth of books wouldn't be taxed further when it reaches the UK.
  • Wow.. just tried Pricenoia for getting a gift for a friend of mine.. within Europe I´ve saved a lot on one of BlackAdder sets, this one. The same product at amazon.de is almost the double! curious anyway...
