Vol Repo letter

Hiya,

I am just writing my letter to NR to tell them we're surrendering our property and I have just put regards, then our names. Do I need to sign the letter, or put a contact tel number or add etc?

How long does it take for them to repossess?

Thanks

Sophie

I have been through this and did not even send a letter. We were NR too and didn't want the hassle of them trying to get us to sign papers.

    Each opinon is different.

I went BR end of May'10 and my repossession hearing at court was today. I honestly thought it would drag on longer than this. My last mortagage payment was the 1st April'10.

I just basically ingorned all correspondence and communications.

I assume you are no longer in the premises ?

Yeah, we've moved out about 2 months ago. What did you do just stop paying mortgage and then they wrote to you to go to court? Does it make a difference if we write a letter, ie quicker either way? Our council tax went to nil in August as we said it was empty etc etc and I'm now concerened that we will have to start paying council tax on both properties (rental and mortgaged) if NR don't hurry up and repossess?!

Did you go BR b4 or after repossession?

We are posting keys back tomorrow morning and then hopefully going BR next week.

I'm no expert on the proceedure, i can only say what worked for us.

We didn't send back the keys, we just abandoned the property.

We still get the post every week or so and NR have sent field agents round. We even got one to our new address. Mrs F just said she wasn't her.

We did reply to the court papers saying we were not contesting the repo.

Fingers crossed, repo should have been granted today.

Our time frame was all at once. We went to declare BR on the day we got our new rented keys. Due to Northampton's wierd way, we were declared BR 2 days later and officially moved out the next day. I think thats right. All a blur.

We got the 6 month exeption on the council tax and have subqiquently asked for a class Q exeption (in the hands of a trustee in BR), but no reply has been received.

Fingers crossed we dont have to pay 2x council tax.

    Good Luck
