Have posted seperately but thought I'd pop my question in here too - I have some store specific (Tesco) vouchers for anchor butter.

Could I use these in say Asda and not buy the product?

    Anyone know?

This is a bit of a grey area, and it would probably completely depend on the SA. I'm pretty sure the voucher would scan OK, but whether the store would accept it or not is anyone's guess.

I personally don't use Tesco vouchers in Asda, mainly because they'd probably be more hassle than what they're worth. :o

If you were buying the product though, I'm pretty sure they would take it.

Give it a try, that's all I can suggest.
  • Toothwiz - if you see earlier I too had a problem with a Times £2 voucher in Waitrose - the SA took it off me but did not deduct the amount - only noticed when I checked my receipt - it does show that the coupon policy really is hit and miss. I didn't even get it returned to me.

I worked in a Supermarker Cash Office many moons ago but all coupons were collected from Tills and all balanced up with till readings then input onto a daily cash report then packaged up into an envelope and sent to head office where they then forwarded them to the Coupon clearing house for reimbursement.

I do work on Sainsburys tills but I have to confess I wasn't really taught which coupons we could or couldn't take. I just took loads from the people who were nice and checked the meanies ones really carefully and wouldn't take any for stuff they'd not bought. Following a similar question posted on here recently I went in and found out that we are only supposed to take vouchers for products the customer has bought. Been being very naughty for ages and never been caught but hoping they'll give me some more hours so I'm on best behaviour now:D
