Weight Wins - get paid to lose weight

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

http://www.weightwins.co.uk/

If so what are your thoughts / opinions?

I weigh 22 stone and if I kept to the slimming world plan I could make over 2 grand.

it seams NHS backed or maybe not

Pounds for Pounds is operated by Weight Wins, a trading entity of Accelerated Concepts Ltd., incorporated in England and Wales (Company Registration Number 2998091).

however there is a reg fee and a monthly fee, if you loose weight you seam to double your money

I wish i had known about this before i lost 157 lbs lol

lots of dodgy clauses to invalidate you

If a member loses 15 pounds or more in the last month of their plan or 25 pounds in the last two months of their plan, they will not be eligible for the bonus and may be disqualified for extreme behaviour.

    and this sums it up

Pounds for Pounds is both a cash-based incentive programme and a skill-based competition to win prize money.

But these clauses wouldn't be hard to stick to and apart from getting weighed monthly at the pharmacy and sending the certificate off thats if really.

Can't seem to work out if I get the monthly profits monthly or at the end.

they say they make their money from fees (so that will be people dropping out of the program) and advertising. I assumed they would work in the same way as an insurance company, people join and then don't claim. They are hoping you don't forfil your weight loss targets so they have more income than that they need to pay out.

or that you fall foul of there rules

if too many people complete it they will simply fold the company

to pay out one person and cover there overheads at least 5 others are going to have to fail

I think you are being a little naive, take heed of Eric Pisch's words. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

I thought the rules looked simple enough.

and in terms of folding the company -

'Although unlikely, we may cancel your membership at any time at our sole discretion. If we cancel your membership in the first three months we shall return your fees paid plus accumulated earnings. If we cancel your membership after three months (other than because you have missed at least three consecutive weigh-ins), we will pay you the greater of: a) a refund of 30% of the fees you have paid; b) accumulated earnings; and c) (if you are certified at or below your interim target weight at the most recent scheduled weigh-in) an amount equal to two times your accumulated earnings. You will not be liable for remaining fees.
    Money-back guarantee
If you have not lost any weight from your beginning weight in any of the first three months of your plan, you may cancel your plan by way of notification enclosed with your third month’s weight certificate and we will refund your fees in full.'

it doesn't sounf too good to be true, I'll have to pay out £855 and keep to weight loss and weigh inn. It's been all over the news about paying people to loose weigh and stop smoking.

There's independant newspaper articles saying that the NHS use this company.

Thanks for your opinion, I'll be doing more reseach into them before deciding on anything. I might ask at local docs's.

why would you pay out £855 to lose weight????

that money would buy me a whole new wardrobe 5 times over!!!!!!

Just stick to eating sensibly and exercising and you will lose weight and have money to spend on yourself without having to fork out all that money.

I think its too much pressure to put on someone to get paid for losing weight. What happens when you dont reach your target for that month? You already feel down because you've not lost as much weight as you'd hoped and you wouldnt have any £'s for lb's.

Different strokes for different folks but i would much rather have a completely new wardrobe :-D)
