Oh thats a good idea Clasics...

My reasoning here is the only loser in this will be Tesco! And, before anyone asks, yes I will sleep just fine tonight :D . I see it as Mr T (third largest retailer on planet Earth) giving summat back to his local community...without actually knowing about it. :D

  • Hi

I went to Tesco this morning and managed to get the last two operation games. Sorry to the guy that was two paces behind me at Prescot.

Went through the till at £6.49 each when took off £9.97. So two very cheap christmas presents.

    Thank you for the post

Myself and my friend have taken advantage of this saving on games. Whilst doing so we each bought two more games than we actually needed in order to wrap them up for Christmas and hand in at a local collection for under-privileged children. Many churches, schools, television programmes etc ask for gift donations in November/December time and it will be so nice to actually be able to do something good for a complete stranger and help to make a small childs Christmas that little nicer.

If you're in Tesco anyway why not get them and give them away to a good cause? If you are like me, you've probably had hundreds (thousands?) of pounds worth of R&Rs from Mr T. Just nice to be able to give a little back as we approach Xmas time. The fact that most of the gift is being funded by the World's third largest retailer puts the icing on the cake for me!

  • Has anyone tried any other combination of games, or is it just Operation that is setting off the glitch????

    TIA

I think most people realised that I was exagerating for added 'humour' ? ;)

No, I don't agree that it's greed devild. ( Not that I need to justify myself ).

I was trying to get a couple of free annuals ( whilst doing nothing fraudulant )to give as gifts to the kids. Unfortunately my combination of purchases haven't worked, so the albums will be returned.

You must yourself have some interest in these potention 'feebies', ( even managed a couple yourself ? ) or you wouldn't be arsed to read this thread.

FYI, I haven't rushed out today to purchase either Buckeroo or Operation.

There, you can rest easy now :)

    As you were.... :D

I can always rest easy and I wasn't asking you to justify yourself however your comment certainly implied greed and your reply although unnecessary doesn't alter my opinion. The fact that I read these threads indeed does show an interest in "moneysaving" I however don't abuse it as others need to benefit from any deals that go around. Sorry about your albums, obviously the need was not that great or you would keep them.

Don't know about resisting, think it's just greed

    Sorry,
Tesco has made £1.1 BILLION profit in 6 months, and their projected yearly profit is £4 BILLION, and you imply buying games to give to children is GREED ???
Surely if Tesco are not greedy, they would be happy with half that profit, and should therefore cut their prices, or give their staff a raise.

I agree fully that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and even to air it, but equally, don't be surprised if your opinions receive a hostile and offended response. I have NEVER sold anything I have obtained by R&R or store gliches, for profit. Family and friends have just received a more generous present for Xmas and birthdays than they would have done, or I have given my "ill-gotten" gains to good causes - by my definition. Church, schools and people I know who would appreciate and make use of them.
The bible says that Good Deeds should be done quietly, secretly, do not advertise it. Well this way Tescos are doing wonderful Good Deeds - they don't even know it.:D
