LOL, sorry this made me laugh!

What does your food smell of then?

Duh - having a brain fog day - of course I meant my clothes don't smell of food! :rotfl:

I would struggle without ours...4 kids=loads of washing. Ours is in the kitchen and usually we only take the laundry off if we are cooking fish.

That's neither moneysaving, or energy saving

Yes but nobody bothered about that 30 years ago did they?

In fact if I remember when I was growing up 50 years or more ago the government wanted us to use more electricity during the evening and night as they couldn't switch of the coal fired power stations. Is that not why night storage electric heating was invented?

My mother had one in the kitchen, didn't most council houses have them after the war? All the houses around where I as growing up had them.

My brother bought an old one and has it in the hallway of his flat - high ceilings and the clothes seem to dry fast.

Make sure the room is well ventilated or mould can take hold.

well, it's gonna be sited in my daughter's old bedroom and the floor is carpeted. Usually, I don't the washing that comes out of the machine is that wet, as in, it's wrung out quite quite and I don't remember anything coming out dripping. So, will that be ok to put the drier in this room, or do I have to lay something down, just in case?;)
