Can anyone tell me a reputable place that I can buy Ultradent's 10% PF Carbamide Peroxide Gel for teeth whitening?
If I buy it from my dentist it costs £25 for one syringe.
Many thanks

Unless you're a qualified dentist, then you're not allowed to buy it direct from anywhere. It's a Prescription-only item.
That means that any internet site where you can find it is 'grey' at best, and therefore not very reputable, and you could never be 100% sure of exactly what you're buying.
I must say that £25 a syringe does seem a bit steep - but on the other hand, do you really need it?
I use that product to do the whitening on my patients that want it. I find it very good, and it produces a very good, long lasting colour change in patient's teeth.
I do have about 3 patients who do like the odd 'top up' - but I really don't encourage it. It shouldn't be necessary. (I 'discourage' it by charging £10 a syringe, which I think is dear!)
I would guess that any darkening would be more a result of staining than the teeth themselves going darker again so soon. You could try looking into the causes of this staining, or just have the teeth polished to get rid of it, rather than chemically bleaching them every time. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
You could try using hydrogen peroxide 9% as a mouthwash, it can be diluted down if you want, I use this everyday and have gleaming white teeth and healthy gums, my dentist confirmed this:Dcosts 85p :money:from my local chemist and a bottle lasts about 10 days with two of us using it daily:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Thanks Toothsmith for your advice, £25 is very steep seeing as you only charge £10. The colour change is probably due to staining, I like to drink tea and red wine and the occassional curry.
What do you think about what glowgirl said about buying the hydrogen peroxide from the chemist? Would this be okay to use on a daily/weekly basis or would long term use have damaging effects?0 -
I would recommend something proprietary like Peroxyl mouthwash, rather than diluting down stronger H2O2 solutions.
Peroxyl is basically a 5% peroxide solution. I'm not a big fan of using any mouthwash regularly long term, but now and again wouldn't harm. How to find a dentist.
