Costco HP Printer Bargain

I was looking for a new printer after my Laser died and spotted a managers special/clearance deal in Costco. HP Officejet 6500, inkjet, scanner and fax.
On-line price around £150, price on the ticket £92 inc vat. Better still, when it went through the tills it scanned an extra £40 off, so paid under £45 in the end.
They had a few different types available so definately worth a look.
Good printer too - fast and excellent quality

good price...bought the hp 6540j for £65 about 2 years ago and that was a bargain then (pcworld were £240)
good all round printer.....though i use my samsung mono laser to day to day printing
main difference between this and my 6540 is that mine takes single cart of colour and another for black...this has seperate colours....cost seems to work out roughly same though strangelyStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
Great find! Is this a wireless printer?0

Thanks for posting this - this printer is the one my business is after for our new 2 man office we're opening. At that price, it'll do for me personally as well as I've been after a multifunctional for a while.
I picked up two at the Chingford store today, there were quite a few left. No mention on the shelf edge label, and when they were scanned through the checkout it comes up as around £91 gross at first (I paid for the printers in two separate transactions so i can claim expenses on one and keep the other receipt for my personal one). When I handed over the money (as I was prepared to pay £91 anyway as the next cheapest I had found was around £110 from comet with a discount code) the £40 net discount came up and left me with £44.63 to pay. A bargain!
This is the wired version, not the wireless.0 -
Yep, it's wired. I connected to my wireless router via a cable and both my laptops print to it just fine wirelessly. The software bundled with it was easy to set-up on both the laptops and the hardwired PC.
I don't have a phone line nearby so the fax facility is a bit redundant for me. The scanner works well and can be used via a sheet feeder or just placing the original on the glass.
I have just bought a set of inks from Amazon. Various different suppliers to get the best prices, ranging from about £6.50 for a single colour to £14 odd for the black. Make sure you get the XL cartridges (HP 920XL) as these last much longer for little more money - about 700 pages quoted. These are all HP originals, which seems a great price.
This is a great piece of kit and a steal at £45The force is strong in this one!0 -
The deal on the HP 6500 is a proper one.
The extra 40 quid off is due to the checkout automatically recognising the product as being a special offer in the voucher book and taking off the extra amount.
I think its valid till 10th October
Derby has loads - in the doors, turn left and they're along the back wall with the special offers - not with the rest of the printers ! ... Says she who spent ages hunting for them.:j0 -
Just looked through my booklet but can't find the voucher. My printer packed up last night. Are these booklets the same everywhere or do they differ in different parts of the country? I am looking through the booklet dates coupons for 20 Sep - 10 Oct but can't find anything.0

Just rung Costco but they said it is £91. Is this correct?0
