How long does a "free" solar PV array take to install?

Out of curiosity I have read here and elsewhere about the length of time it takes to install a solar PV kit fully commissioned.
It seems to be getting shorter with some saying no more than a day in total!
Can any people who have used any of the "free" solar companies such ASG, Isis, Homesun, etc like to clarify the times taken?
What I am getting at is that it would seem that the most variable cost with pricing installations is tha cost of installation rather than the array/kit.
I am sure that where solar is "free" the companies will be taking an ever shorter period to be as cost effective as possible.
Whereas, should a customer be paying themselves it would seem that installations take anything from 2 - 3 days - hence the costs being higher.
It would be of help to all to know what is the correct and expected length of time to fully install/commission solar Pv and the costs - which it would seem to be nearer to what "free" solar installs time frames are.
regards

It looks to me that if the installer is acting as sub-contractor (ie fixed price) then it will take a team of three around 1/2 day, (Ref posts on ASG installs 3.5 to 5.5 hours .... examples - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=36997524&postcount=601 ... & ... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=37131194&postcount=644 ) whilst if they're fitting it directly they will charge for (and take, if necessary) two to three days ........
There's a great time lapse video link posted on one of the threads recently which shows a multi-day install .... ( here it is ... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=36959452&postcount=593 ) .... if you watch the Sun's arc by following the shadows you'll probably think the same as me .... 'Where are they?, not another extended break ??' ... gives a good idea of how to 'up the prices' though .... Of course, MCS has been set up to protect the public from unscrupulous practices which gave solar thermal a bad name ..... so where's 'Watchdog' when you need them ? :rotfl:

ASG installed my (their) 3.3 18 panel in 5 hours flat, started at 8:00 finished by 15:00
Fitting team was 2 on the roof, and an electrician.
The only other work was the installation of an isolator switch - an hour, and the fitting and removal scaffolding.:j No longer lurking :j0 -
