PC will no longer burn CDs. In Windows Media Player it says Connect burner, in iTunes it says Burner or software not found and Nerosmart only has Image Recorder in the dropdown menu and is not allowing me to choose my CD drive.
Have Googled and tried several fixes, but all to no avail. All was working fine before I had a new motherboard and CPU installed.
Current devices are as follows:
Athlon 64 AMD Processor 3000+
ENSU KLE7KDUR SCSI CD Rom
LITE-ON DVD SoHD - 167T
Disk Drive Maxtor 6Y120L0
I can play CDs ok.
Any help/suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Does the CD drive work? Insert an audio CD to see if it plays, If that works insert a blank CD/DVD before running it again.
Does the Drive appear in MY COMPUTER when you browse it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Had same problem this weekend. To solve it do a sytem restore to an earlier date. You will have uninstalled a program which has caused the issue and corrupted the entries in the registry. Failing that read this article:- http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprohardware/thread/9e13912b-570e-44f2-9b0b-e3aa55de3646
It refers to deleting the lower filter entry but I found the system restore worked for me

could be a driver problem. have you tried removing the CD drive and then adding the drive again. Make sure you have latest driver from drive's manufacturer's website.0

It will only to allow me to restore to the point when the new motherboard and processor were installed and this is when the problem started. :mad:0
