Probably worrying over nothing but...

I went bankrupt on the 1st July at the High Court in London.

I gave it a week for the OR to contact me to sort out my OR interview - a week passed an no contact from them. Ended up plucking up the courage to ring them, was advised over the phone that they didn't need to interview me - probably because my bankruptcy was pretty straightforward, no assets, no income to pay an IPA as on jobseekers (loosing my job was why I had to go bankrupt - just couldn't service the debts anymore after years of struggling).

And since then...

nothing! Not a phone call, not a letter to confirm anything. Not a sausage!

Now, I'm not saying I want to have these people knocking on my door or anything, but is it a bit weird that I haven't received any formal notification of... well, something!

I understand the OR office is really busy at the moment, probably especially so in London, but has my file been lost somewhere? Should I just keep my head down? Should I give them a ring and say: "Hello, just wondered if you've forgotten about me?!?"

Perfectly normal all it means is you filled all your bankruptcy papers out & they have enough information to see why you became insolvent

they know where you are if they need you so try not to worry it'll go quiet now for a fair while, mine did had the receiver interview the same day as bankruptcy and didnt hear anything after that for nearly 9mnths

High Court will transfer your file to a local court and then the OR that covers that court will then administer the BR, but you should have received some paperwork - a letter saying no interview needed, a form to sign and send back outlining your duties whilst BR, etc. Have you received any of these?

Nope - haven't received anything... which is why I'm a bit, well, worried.

    Hi,

I wouldn't worry, I think it is because we expect to be dragged through the coals for going BR, and when the process for a straightforward case at least is quite uneventful we then expect some nasty little shock to be lurking round the corner!

You've called them you couldn't possible do anymore so relax now and start looking forward.

    Good luck.
