Looking for advice....

My partner was declared bankrupt on Thursday due to his house with his ex-partner being repossessed. He applied for the bankruptcy himself with help from citizens advice. He got a letter saying his application has been successful, the letter also said they would be in touch for a review in 6 months. We naively thought that was it!! However on reading into it further i see that phone interviews are made and possible repayments made to the debt. How is this worked out, does anyone know? My partner only earns about £300 a month and does have outgoings although these are hard to prove as everything is in my name. He doesnt have a bank account at the moment so is having his wages paid into mine. We are not financially associated in any way and we dont live together at moment. Does anyone know what happens next and if he might be forced to pay back a lot of money??

Someone should be in touch about an interview – this may be over the phone or in person.
They will go through your partner’s financial affairs and will complete a statement of his income and expenditure to see if he has any spare cash to make a contribution to his bankruptcy.
Even if outgoings are in your name, it’s generally assumed that if two wage-earning people are living in the same house, they are both contributing financially to the household expenses.
Your partner should explain the situation. He will need to give details of household and personal expenditure and this should show that his income is used to pay his share.
