i do too - but you can't be shifting between your priced out and you're expecting price falls.
they are two completely different things.
Currently priced out but (hoping and) expecting that prices will fall makes sense. So at the exact time she wants to buy she may be able to afford to do so.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. that's fine and not an issue - but with a combined income of nearly £80k plus (allegedly); you can't really be priced out, or can you?Currently priced out but (hoping and) expecting that prices will fall makes sense. So at the exact time she wants to buy she may be able to afford to do so.0 -
I can see the new current comedy sketch right now :-
Employer : Well Bill, to sum up in your appraisal, you have done better than we all expected.
Employee : I was hoping you'd say that. Can we broach the sensitive issue of my salary ?
Employer : Well, times are hard, but I will listen...
Employee : Ok, I wan't 5% reduction in salary (oh, and Friday afternoons off to run my stall on the market)
Employer : Done. Trebles all round!

Two words...
Pro rata'd hours
4 days weeks
bigger bonus's, banked up for a rainy day, when your NOT in a relationship anymore!
Pensions and
CASH
which will result in
Less Tax and still high child benefit payouts
I could understand if it was JOINT income of 88k but it takes two to tango and make the baby and if it isnt encouraging people to spend time with kids as parents then its paying extortionate fees for child minding, or nursery fee's.
The option really is becoming ... dont work, and dont carePlan
1) Get most competitive Lifetime Mortgage (Done)

Real incomes have been falling for years.
The availability of cheap and easy credit and benefits have supplemented icomes and hidden this fact.
This is why it now takes two people to buy a house whereas it used to take one to buy an equivalent (or in most cases better) house.

THe same is happening at BA. Pilots are choosing to go on 90% contracts rather than pay the 50% bracket. Kind of a "!!!! you very much" to the government. With pay increments, most guys are recieving the same salary but working less hours.0

Then there's more work to go round. Helping the economy to recover.0
