There is a shower at work, so I think that would be the best plan. When you put it like that - £80 saved, that's definitely worth doing and I could do with some weight loss too. All there every is at my work is cakes, cakes and cakes! For the least excuse - birthday, holiday, work anniversary!
Thank you for your advice xx
1/2 hour each way is nothing, and £80 a month is a good gain!!!
You have a reasonable amount left over so you should be able to manage ok, but definitely give yourself a weekly budget to stick too - it is hard to start with. It took me AGES to learn how not to spend all of my wages and actually have some left, let alone save any!

Hi,
Good luck with the driving, how long until your test?
What is the loan for?
R
Forgot to say - I'm not sure when my test will be. There hasn't been a date set but I'm making progress and this time around, just want to finally achieve it! I got the loan because I've been getting so many charges lately it's unreal. In the past few months m credit cards were over their limits, I have managed to get them all under their limit now, which is something and living somewhere cheaper has helped too. Great advice - hard to admit the clothes thing but it's true!!0 -
As suggested by a few of you - here's an improved version. Think I get it now! Can't believe it, but I actually left out a credit card!
HSBC: £1800
VISA: £2000
Natwest: £400
Capital One: £700
Miss Selfridge: £110
Dorothy Perkins: £130
Very: £1300 (buy now, pay next year - only way I could afford to buy clothes and replace my laptop, aiming to get rid of debts first then sort this one out as it's not gathering interest at the moment).
Overdraft £2000
Owe family: £700 total
Salary: £1100 per month
Outgoings:
Rent: was paying £350 a month, now moved into a room the size of a box (not kidding - there is not enough room for my clothes!) and have reduced this to £260 per month.
Sky: reduced from £20 to £12 per month due to living with other tenants
Council tax: reduced from £80 to £40 a month (living in a rougher area to boot :rotfl:)
Driving lessons: £250 for 2.5 months approximately (for 10 lessons, otherwise it's £27 per lesson).
Buses to work: £4 per day
Lunches: very budgety lunches!
Mobile phone: £40 per month
Alcohol: £40 per month
Clothing: £50
TV licence: £5 (approx - not long moved in and living with 2 others, not been discussed yet)
Groceries: £50 per month
Electricity: £30
Presents: £20
Medical: £4 (prepayment cert)
Internet: £10
Holiday: £30 (counting this because I went home and paid for a flight to get there and will prob do same at Chrismas)
____________
Expenses: £589
Available for debt repayments: £511
Unsecured debt repayments: £200
Surplus: £311
_______
Unsecured debt: £70000 -
Also - regarding paying my family back. They are pretty good really. I give them as much as I can when I can, but they don't demand a certain amount each month. Thanks everyone on here for all your help and advice xxx0
