Holiday win?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I received a wem in may from a lady from Harper Collins notifying me of a holiday win. I've won a 5 day trip to la (flights and hotel, and $1000). She passed my details on to another lady from the company dealing with it to get it all booked. It took her a while to get back to me and then I had to get a new passport as I needed 6 months left from my return date. I let her know the dates we would like on August 13th. We would like 11th-16th feb, she said she would try but it's unlikely because of valentines day. So I said any date in feb is fine if they won't have our original ones. I emailed her two weeks later and she said I should prepare for a long wait as everyones ducks have to fall in to line. I have emailed her once since then and have had no response. I'm a bit concerned now as it has been almost 2 months since I've heard from her. And we need to book time off work and confirm childcare. Does it usually take this long or is there someone else I should be contacting? Sorry for the long post, this is my first big win. Thank you x

Wow thats is a long time to book tickets. Saying that i had probs with the Cyprus win I am going on this month, where they booked my dates sent me the flights in post etc then emailed me last week to say they forgot to book the hotel and now its fully booked for the dates I wanted. Arrghh . Anyways they did offer me an alternative hotel also 5* luxury which looks nice too, so we are still all set to go in 2 weekes time, But TBH I was suprised they made the error. I would email them again explaining them you need to book time of work etc and book child care. I would also CC in the first lady who contacted you. That way both ladys are involved and aware of the situation.
Hope you sort it out and wow sounds an amazing trip xx

  • Hi everyone,

Well i followed advice and sent another email and cc'ed the lady from Harper Collins. She replied the next day "I've spoken to .... and she said that shes has been sorting everything out and will be in touch very soon". This was on October 5th, i haven't heard anything from anyone since then. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do now? I'm concerned as obviously christmas is coming and I am doubtful of it getting sorted over the festive period which brings us to just a month before we want to go. Which is leaving it very late for us to book time off and arrange childcare. I'm quite upset about this I feel like i'm going to miss out on my prize :(

Well email them again and ask for an update. Say that you really need to know within the next week so you can book time off. Is there a number at the bottom of the email, you could call them and talk to the person who is dealing with the holiday directly. You have ever right to keep chasing it up.
