My father in law has been ordering their cakes and biscuits for years and falling for this con. There are many hits on Google and it appears to be an international scam with elderly people in France and other European countries complaining about the scam.

Last month he was told that there would be a personal delivery of a cheque and they asked for his photo. The order form also asked for date of birth! So they have his personal details bank cheque and photo ideal fodder for ID theft.

From all the Google searches there doesn't seem to be anyway of stopping this perhaps it would be a good investigation for Watchdog to investigate.

I think father in law has finally realised that this is a scam and is tearing up the letters when they arrive.
