    I prefer spotify by miles.
  • I like Last.fm, perfect for when I'm out with a laptop, you can favourite certain tracks whilst they play and the plug-in automatically plays more similar. Also its fun to see a detailed list of what you've listenned to online and then be linked to the albums to buy your most listenned to tracks :D

You can "scrobble" what you listen to onto Last.fm through Winamp and also through We7 if you set up a free login and enable it in settings :) I like We7 too.

    I would recommend spotify.
  • Last.fm would annoy me immensely if I was using it as my primary music source as many of the tracks I want to listen to are unavailable or are only thirty second previews.

I do listen to a lot of new music though so perhaps older stuff is more available on Last.fm. For the best new music, the Hype Machine (hypem.com) is fantastic - it's free and doesn't have ads, although I think you have to register to listen to more than three tracks in a row.

Other than that, the paid versions of Spotify and we7 are great - we7 is particularly useful as it works within a browser so you can listen at work and home. But for a similar service that's free, try grooveshark.com

I use iTunes and my iPod for listening to my music collection, but I always scrobble. This means that Last.fm has learnt my music taste and when I listen to my personalised radio station I get a good mix of my music, plus artists or songs that I've never heard before, meaning that I actually expand my taste. Also, there are forums and communities on there to discuss music. For me it's a good replacement for listening to radio.
  • I recommend Shoutcast. You can use it with Winamp & other players, tons of genres of streaming music!! Approx 43,000 stations. Some great music on there.
