hi all
before my OH went BR he had purchased his car with a 'loan' from santander. it was a bit unclear from paperwork whether infact it was a personal loan or finance agreement and obviously we needed to get this confirmed before be paid across the money to 'buy back' the car from the trustee.
the trustee made their enquiries and confirmed to us it was a personal loan and therefore the vehicle was an assett included in his BR. so we bought it back (with a little help)
what worries me now tho is that during the period of uncetainty my OH took off the private reg (via DVLA etc) and we have just got a letter from santander adding £35 administration fee to the agreement for changing their records. wots that all about? if it was a personal loan then what does it matter and why/how are they being informed?
anyone have any ideas? god knows why i am worrying about this
(must add that i understand that the private reg is an assett too and to be dealt with separately)
thank you x

Was the loan included in the BR?
Not sure really but is it showing as under HPI still? If it is then the DVLA would inform them through that I think.0 -

yes the loan was included in the BR.
its a weird one. i have just checked and the letter from the trustee def says its a loan so gonna try and forget it. think santander would have prob come for the car before now if it was theirs!
thanks0 -
I reckon it's the HPI then, our car was under a personal loan but Black Horse still HPI'd it. They denied doing so though but when I did an HPI check there it was
I am hoping that when I do the credit clean up and they put it as settled that it will also clear the HPI.
Also as the loan was included in the BR they should not be adding charges to it now, but I expect the OR will deal with that bit.
Try not to worry, if it is a personal loan and does not have the bit in it about coming and getting the car then they can't.0 -
HPi / Equifax is the most likely way they've been informed0
