Do I cook this before freezing?

Hello, new to this board 
I have made a Shepards pie, one for dinner and have some left over that I have put in a foil cooking tray. Do I need to cook this in the oven first or is it ok to put straight in the freezer?
When I want the frozen one should I defrost it first?

Hi
I probably wouldn't cook it before freezing - just assemble it. I would let it defrost safely in the fridge overnight but some would cook from frozen
