Asda self service tills

Has anyone else noticed that Asda have stopped the use of vouchers in their self service tills. Both warrington stores affected, is this national ?:mad:

My store has notices saying 10% only in coupons including on the self service tills. I think they have blocked over the coupon holes so you have to pass the coupon to the assistant. When the 10% rule was introduced I went back to using the normal till assistants as they don't always stick to 10% and I assume the 10% is more rigorously checked on the self service tills.

:eek: cant get half their products to scan on self scan half the time anyway waited longer for self scan than those in the till quee

using these self-service tills results in a loss of jobs and absolutely awful customer service for those just nipping in for a couple of items

The 10% rule means that you can use cash value coupons to get up to 10% knocked off your bill. It isn't an actual '10% off' coupon.

For example if you spend £20 then you can use up to £2 coupons. This could be 99p off a magazine, 35p off crisps and 65p off cereal coupons etc... You do not have to buy the actual product the coupon is for!

Asda Tilbury. 4 new self scan tills, no limit on vouchers and it takes the £5 off £15 TU at sainsburys vouchers

That's the reason why.

People abuse the privalege which then prevents everyone else from using them normally.

Until I get a discount on my shopping I refuse to use the self service tills!
