Friends Provident Endowment

Just out of curiosity I have one of these policys that matures in less then 3 months time ,todays Cash value is £25287 .Will they add a terminal bonus to this figure on maturity which is at present 25%.I know the terminal bonuses are only added to the bonuses from previous years which amount to around 11K so terminal bonus will be about 2.7k.Unless I am wrong this will bring the value up to £28k plus what ever is added in the next 2 months, which is still well short of target amount of £35k but much better then 2 years ago when I nearly cashed it in !!

Is it unit linked or with profits?

FP will tell you the terminal bonus accrued to date if you ask them. They are sneaking up again but with 3 months to go, the current position would be a good guide to what is likely.

So I take it that most of the terminal bonus is already included in the cashin value I have today so I might not get back any more then they are forcasting which is £25600
  • None of the terminal bonus will be included in the cash in value AFAIK (maybe wrong here though, so worthwhile checking) as you haven't fully paid up the endowment (ie reached the terminus of the plan).
