Well.... what an inspiration this site has been for me!
I'll introduce myself briefly, and please, if I'm doing this in the wrong place, please let me know!
Over this last month, I've come to realise that my debt is out of control, and it's time I faced up to it! I have a few 'excuses' as to why I'm so much in debt ( separation, income reduction etc etc) but ultimately, the debt is mine and must be dealt with.
So, I bit the bullet, totted up my unsecured debt ( nearly £25,000 eeeek! how did that happen!) and plucked up the courage to contact Payplan, and have my online interview booked for Monday.
So, thank you to all you debt free wannabes who have inspired me to face my debt demons, and any tips will be most gratefully received! I actually feel quite positive at the moment, but I know that will soon be tarnished by the impending creditor contacts, I'm particularly dreading receiving calls at work
, but its something I shall have to be brave about!
Wish me luck:T

Hi Sionnach - and welcome to MSE!!
The regulars and experts on here will advise you to post your SOA (can't do the links, but it's a sticky at the top of the main DFW board) - people can then see your situation, warts and all, and give you some advice as to where to start!
Well done on facing upto things and good luck with your Payplan interview - are they one of the free services? If not, you don't need to pay for advice - there is lots of free help out there!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Thank you Brummiebabe... I'll have a go at the SOA...
Payplan do offer free debt management plans, but I read somewhere on here that they have been known to try and 'sell' IVA's, but I'm going to resist that:p
I'm kind of looking forward to setting sail on the good ship DMP, but I'm fully aware that there are going to be many storms and icebergs along the way.... Oh, the trepidation!0
