HSBC Advance Visa Card Problems...

Greetings,
anyone else having problems with the new (red) Advance debit card? Everytime I go to use a chip and pin machine at a shop I'm on edge because 10% of the time it says "invalid card" or "swipe strip" etc, basically it just doesn't work. I (and staff) wipe the chip etc but it won't work, I've already had to cancel one and get a new one because it flat out stopped working at all - even cash machines said "card error". It's getting silly now, its literally like a lottery if it will work or not. Never had this problem with any other cards at all, the old black one was fine but since these red ones have come out its happened about 20 times

Call up and get the card replaced. If it isn't working they should do this for you no questions asked.urs sinserly,

Lokolo, I suppose you are right - I do make use of my "advantages" and it works out cheaper for me to pay.
Juicy; I've had one card replaced already for doing this. Just wondering if I'm unlucky for some reason or if there's anyone else. Never in all my years of having cards (and I've had plenty) have I experienced this until HSBC replaced my plus card with the new red advantage card and its happened about 20 times in the last 3 months now :<
If I get a new one I imagine it will do the same thing as the other two !

bah,
this is very strange. Went to Tesco and it wouldn't work at all (NO CHIP FOUND apparently) so had to use credit card. Went to Post Office - again remove and re-insert card x 5 times- had to use credit card. Go to 2x cash machines and it works fine
:mad::mad:
Just ordered (another) replacement, wonder how long it will last this time (previous one lasted two months)
