hello there, i bought one last year after reading this site. never really used it much as first, but now it stays on the side. i buy cheap meat, throw it in the cooker , can of carrots, little water and leavve for 4-5 hours, seroiusly a good buy if your family come in at all different times, wouldn't be withouut mine.0

i have had a couple of slow cookers now - the latest one being a huge family sized one from ASDA i paid around £20 for it and come winter is what i use most! i tend to make stews by throwing chicken or beef in with cauli, carrots, onions, swede etc basically any veg you want, i the add some stock and herbs etc and leave it on! once done i thicken it with a little cornflour and its done!!! I also sometimes use the swartz packets instead of seasoning.
I also use it for stuff like chilli, bolognese and goulash. I also know some people that use it to cook dry stuff like joints etc but i always tend to cook the wet stuff like casseroles etc! well worth it.0 -

hi there
i saw this at argos for half price ....its quite a large size...i have got some of argos cookworks stuff and its been ok for me anyway have a look and see what you think http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4236045/Trail/searchtext%3ESLOW+COOKERS.htm0 -
Just buy a cheapy like moutard's or consumermonkey's posts. If you find that you use it a lot then you can always buy a bigger one. If on the other hand it ends up at the back of the cupboard with the fondue set and the Sodastream etc. then you haven't wasted much.

I have 2 slow cookers one an Asda cheap 3lt and the other a Crockpot 6Lt. Both do the job but prefer Crockpot - the inner ceramic dish is safe to use on hob to brown all meats/veg etc. before slow cooking. Also I prefer the shallower oval dish rather than the taller round dish for ease of cooking. Oval dish allows you to brown/cook joints like pork/lamb and you can put whole chicken in. All of these can be cooked with water then sauces added in last couple of hours. Lamb leg without bone is fab with a tagine sauce.Chicken just falls off the bone and pork just needs gravy added. All stews/hotpots/curry's easy to make.0

I have both the 3.5l & the 6.5l Morphy Richards Slow Cookers - 3.5l for recipes without potatoes such as spag bol, chilli, curry etc ad 6.6l for stews, etc
As a working mum I wouldn't be without them as I can cook dinner before I go to work and arrive home and dish up almost straight away.0
