We had the same problem and did end up going to P@H. In fairness they do have a great range, though their hutches aren't cheap....

Ever thought about making them yourself...
Alot cheaper and you end up with a much better quality structure, most of them nowadays seem to be so flimsy - thin ply and wire.
If you can not build one yourself try looking in your local paper for carpenters, but your then paying a wage :(

    Hope this helps...
    :j I'm keen :j
 The name has been changed to protect the innocent:mad: Well almost :D
  • Try Pets & Gardens at Finaghy Crossroads. They do really sturdy dog kennels (ours outlasted the dog !) and I'm 99% sure they do hutches too.

    Thank you for the replies!!

That Omlet place...rabbit houses look very strange! And they are expensive!! :rotfl: Probably work out cheaper to buy from Ebay!!!:rotfl:

Will have a look at Pets & Gardens, thank you Chrissy Boy for the tip:D

And if i built a rabbit hutch would probably end up looking like something from outer space!!!:p :rotfl:

Cant understand why its sooooo expensive to deliver over here....very frustrating!!

Oh well, the search continues, thank you for your help!:T

Speaking from experience, it's not too difficult to build your own hutch, especially if you already have one to use as a plan...

Simply measure the hutch up and then you can buy the plywood from B and Q (or similar) - they should also be able to cut it to size.

All you'll then need are a lot of nails, some roofing felt and wire mesh for the door. And some animal-friendly wood preservative.

It will take a while but you feel a real sense of achievement when it is finished!

The P@H ones are pretty good, they are proper tongue in groove and decent mesh etc, but you're right if you were a bit hand you could build better for less.

Why not try a small pet shop? There is one called Pet Stop at Ballyhackamore just down the road from Stormont and I think we got one of our hutches there. Also, Bloomfield Pets beside Connswater used to do them but it closed down. You could look up the phone book for small pet shops near you and phone them up specifying your needs, I am sure they will be willing to help. Hope this helps....
