Well I've finally been able to tot up what we now owe, it's been a pain in the a*%$ not really knowing exactly where we stand and for the last week I've had a nagging feeling that I've been a little optomistic with what we owe. I've just spent the last 2 hours going through all our receipts, accounts, cc bills, school fees etc amd have been able to work out the following:

    Payments for September:
DS driving lessons (cheques not yet cashed for block payment) £230
    DS1 school fees (our 10% contribution) £989.29
DD school fees (our 10% contribution) £471.63
DS2 school fees (need to pay the whole lot but includes afterschool care for whole term) £1917.50-£160 already saved-£486 childcare vouchers from work=£1271.50
Bills including mortgage, phones, ins, etc £1092.64

GRAND TOTAL: £4055.07 + electric bill just received £93.39= 4148.46:eek:

Amount in bills account to pay for this: £3083.67 - short by £1064.79 ( have £1000 overdraft available, the first £300 at 0%)

Day to day spending account for food and petrol available for September £1167.92. 4 weeks @ £150 budget per week =£600 required so should have £567 left over???

    Debt left to pay:

Storecard - £187.73 (used to buy school uniforms that are specific to schools and can't buy elsewhere)
    Northern Rock car loan - £178.60 Last payment due 25th September:T :T
    Sofas - £429.60, 0% interest final payment due 20th April 08:D
    NatWest cc £1000, 0% until Oct 08:D
John Lewis CC £94.95, 15% interest, will be paid off completely 1/10/07
    Overdraft prediction - £500

Therefore total debt today 31/8/07 currently stands at £2388.67  not quite as good as I originally thought but totally manageable compared to where I've been.

In a months time I will have paid off the car loan, overdraft, JL and maybe storecard leaving just the sofas and NatWest both at 0%. Lets see how I go:rolleyes:

That looks pretty sorted to me! Well done, you're very nearly there.

I have just paid the final £400 on 1 cc and an extra £300 on the other leaving me with the grand total of £900 to pay by Sep 29th to avoid having paid interest on anything! It seemed like a good idea at the time but I never want to do that again. Off to update my sig.

Don't be too hard on youself themaccas. You've still done amazingly well and September was always going to be an expensive month for you. In a way it might have been worse if you had become debt-free over the summer and immediately plunged back into debt, cos you hadn't had enough time to save for the September bills. Sure you will be showing a zero on your signature soon. Good Luck.

Just remembered I haven't included child benefit of £169.20, we get that payment on Monday so I think I'll use that for contingency in case everything goes t*&% up:o .

On another note we are going to be posted away from here within the next couple of months although fortunately we are going somewhere where I'll just about be able to commute to my present job. At the moment I work 38 miles (76 miles) away 3 days a week. The new commute will be around 45 miles (90 return). Over a month though that will be another 158 miles a month, accounting for annual leave = an extra £20 petrol a month.   . Hmmmmm I think I'll look for a job closer to our new home.

Even if your debt total for the month isn't quite what you had hoped, what you have achieved is still pretty amazing.

Grrrr....don't even get me started on school uniforms that have to be bought from a specific shop......lol

Just keep your focus, you are so close now. I can't wait to hear you are debt free, and I've a feeling it wont be very long at all.
