It will be worth all the hard work when it comes together.

Will selling the house mean that you become debt free?

Yes, it will Hypno, we bought the house 11 years ago so have fortunately got a lot of equity which will pay off the debts and have a great deposit for another house. Equity is all relative though as all the houses have gone up in price so we'll still have a mortgage, probably bigger than before!

I am excited about it all though and it's that that is keeping us both going. As we are living in rented accomodation at the mo (forces married quarter) there isn't any pressure on us to find something else so that feels good and we can take our time.

I'm glad everything is moving on for you. Hope the house sells quickly and for a good price. Don't get too exhausted, we don't want your health suffering. Good luck with finishing your Uni stuff.

What can you get for Tesco vouchers by way of a meal?

I discovered Toptable due to this site where there are loads of 50% off food deals and others too. Also at the moment the Times has various offers including 2 courses for £15. You need to know the code which I think is in the paper. On Friday it was MENU but I don't know if Friday was the last day/when the week of validity for codes runs from/to.

The house is coming together slowly, we have the new kitchen appliances in, the kitchen, bathrooms and 3 bedrooms painted but the plumber has yet to start work. We have given him a £1900 deposit to pay for all the items, his labour costs will be paid for at the end. It's a lot of money so I hope he doesn't do a runner:eek: !!!!! Anyhow OH and I are back up at the house tonight doing.............more painting:mad:  The painter who is painting all the outside woodwork told me yesterday if the weather was bad and he had to stop painting the outside because of the rain, would we like him to carry on inside....I could have kissed him, he'll charge £12 an hour but I no longer care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got pushed into getting another EA look round our house and they are desperate to take it on and sell it for us, they have reduced their commission from 1.5% to 1% and want to market it at 5K more than the previous EA. We are going to have a think about it over the weekend, they are the biggest sellers and EA in the town and are very proactive and on the verge of being OTT. Great for a seller but offputting for a buyer I think so not sure what to do:confused: .

We've decided to go for the pushy EA and will give him 6 weeks, if we have not had an acceptable offer we'll move back into the house. When we got to the house last night the new bath was in and the cloakroom sink. All the old toilets, sinks and bath had been stripped out and were outside the house waiting for the skip. The tiler starts on Monday, the outside painting is looking good already and he's only put primer on so far. We painted 2 bedrooms last night so we feel at last we are moving on with the project. Money wise we have depleted the £3000 and this weekend we will be doing a CC balance transfer to get the remaining that we will need. It's a bit annoying but hopefully will only be for the short term. Overall I am loving this challange and can't wait to see the house finished.

That's great - a lot of us have had problems with dumped messages and logging out - there's some maintenace work being done on Friday I think.
