So glad you managed to convince your OH to not buy the car. It would have depreciated so much if you had bought new.
Well done on keeping on track, and paying for your holiday. I am well impressed by how you have done

Congratulations, 22k and no arguing are fantastic achievements, especially in only a year! I hope you continue to do so well, and enjoy that holiday, I bet it will be the best you've ever had, because you know you won't be coming home to a giant credit card bill. Oh !!!!!!.
Used my creditcard this week. Added £1356 to our debt, it was half term and I just went a bit crazy. Feel like I'm back in the debt hole now, I mean....I feel so disappointed, not sure whether to pay it back with our holiday money or pay minimum payments until after we get back.
It's quite scary how quickly it adds up and even scarier knowing how easy it is.
Bloody hell.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -
Hello themaccas
Sorry to see you've had a blip! Is there anything you can return to bring the figure down a bit? Would you consider destroying the cards/freezing them in case this happens again?
What's the interest like on it, if any?
You can resolve this - just look at how well you are doing!!!
Take care xxLeason learnt :beer:0 -
Sorry the macca's about your blip.
As you say its scary how easy it is.

Hi Moozie, it's 15.9%, I think the interest will be around £16 per month if I just pay the minimum payments. The worst of this is that I haven't told my OH yet, I will and I am sure he'll be ok about it, - shocked, but ok. I will try and take some of the stuff back next week and I have cut up the card now - did that in the last few minutes! I am tempted to pay it all back now out of our holiday money as that will hurt and will encourage me to take more stuff back, but it will be punishing OH and the kids too so I'll think about it and discuss it with DH.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

Sorry to hear about the blip, but don't be too hard on yourself - we're all only human and everybody slips up sometimes. I'm sure you'll be back busting debt right left and centre in no time - and if you look at it objectively that still leaves you having got rid of well over 20k in a year, right? Good luck with your ever-so-slightly increased remaining debt, I've no doubt you'll do absolutely brilliantly with the rest! And enjoy New York - I'm still jealous...2007 Bronze Olympic Challenge: Total £1057.34 :jDFW Nerd 269: Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0
